Enhancements — upgrading one area at a time

Enhancements generally refer to parts of either hardscapes or softscapes in smaller form. An enhancement is usually a smaller part of a design installed for a specific upgrade to an area, rather than a full property install.

What an enhancement can include

• Lighting kits
• Parts of hardscapes and softscapes in smaller form
• Raised beds and borders
• Specimen planting in an existing bed

They are the jobs that let a property improve in stages. A lighting kit through an existing bed changes how a front of a house reads after dark. A flagstone path set through a shade bed makes a side yard walkable. A pair of raised beds turns a gravel strip down the side of a garage into somewhere worth going.

A smaller way to start

Not every property needs everything doing at once. Enhancements are often how a longer relationship starts: one area upgraded now, the rest as it makes sense.
